What is it like to grow up at the "margins" of society? And how do those that do see themselves? To answer these questions, Tobias Gelb travelled to the dilapidated district of Předlice in the Czech border town Ústí nad Labem. Over the course of a year and a half and with the help of a local NGO, he gained the trust of the local Roma community. His subjects chose their poses freely, resulting in a rare look into the world of young Roma that is both intimate and respectful. The 26 carefully curated images from his countless visits form the book “Planet Předlice” that was released in the summer of 2026.
